2024 BEALS PRIZE FOR YOUNG POETS COMPETITION INFORMATION

• Submissions Deadline: Friday, October 25, 2024.

• You may submit only one original, unpublished poem. 

• Contestants must be in grades 9-12 and go to one of these schools: Murdock, Monty Tech, The Winchendon School, Narragansett, Gardner, Oakmont, Sizer, Cushing Academy, Athik, St. Bernard's or Conant in N.H. Home schooled students are also welcome. 

• Submissions can be emailed to: bealspoetryprize@gmail.com (Word docs preferred).

• Notification of receipt of entry will be via return email.

• Ten finalists will vie for the prize money of $150 for first, $72 for second, and $50 for third.

• All entries will be judged blindly, meaning that the judges will not know who the poet is.

• Competition finalists will be notified on or before Thursday, November 21.

• Previous winner of the Beals Prize are not eligible to enter.
